Copy clarity is the third separator. Research analyzing thousands of landing pages found that simplified language — written at a 5th to 7th grade reading level — converts at 11.1% compared to 5.3% for college-level copy. That's a 56% improvement from simplifying your words.
Social proof placement matters more than most marketers realize. Landing pages with testimonials convert 34% better than those without. But placement is key — social proof directly below the hero section reduces the "is this legit?" anxiety before the visitor invests any scrolling effort.
Then there's personalization. Pages with dynamic, audience-specific content see 16% higher conversion rates. Custom CTAs perform 202% better than generic "Submit" buttons. Only 17% of marketers actively A/B test their landing pages — meaning 83% are guessing at what works.
